Here’s the preview for my new iRiff – “The Lost City Chapter 11: The Death Ray.” This is part of a “crossover” project at Rifftrax.com in which 12 different riffers have taken on chapters of this heinous 1935 serial. The full video will be available on Firday (April 10). This will also appear on the “Fun With Shorts Volume 5″ DVD which is coming very soon.

Here’s an extended trailer for the latest episode of Incognito Cinema Warriors XP, “Bloody Pit of Horror.” The DVD and VOD will be available soon on iRiffs.com. This was my first episode as a writer. I’ve seen it. It’s funny. For REALS funny.

For the past few years I’ve sold Fun With Shorts DVDs out of my bedroom, burning, printing, and mailing them on demand. It suited me well at first, but as orders have increased and I’ve gotten busier it’s become a bit of a burden. And I think I spend more on ink and labels than I could ever hope to make from sales.

So I am no longer selling DVDs the old way. I am working with CreateSpace – an Amazon.com self-publishing company – to offer online sales that I won’t have to fulfill myself. I hope these will be available sometime in January. They will cost a tiny bit more (about $13), but they will be more attractively printed and packaged, and they will be a heck of a lot easier for me to deal with. They’ll be listed in the Amazon store, which sounds cool, but Amazon takes a HUGE cut of the sales. When the time comes, I’ll suggest that interested buyers use the CreateSpace store, as their revenue sharing is much more reasonable.

Lastly, I’ll be adding a new title to my DVD offerings: Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet (which is currently available at Rifftrax.com as a download) plus the short “Toward Emotional Maturity.”

I had the honor and privilege to do some writing for Rifftrax recently. I contributed to last week’s Dark Knight commentary, as well as the freshly-released Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Check them out, won’t us?

Phew – I can finally talk about this!

Mike Nelson’s “Rifftrax Presents” just announced a new commentary featuring Bill Corbett and Mary Jo Pehl (of the legendary Mystery Science Theater 3000) taking on the original X-Files movie “Fight the Future.” This track is especially… special to me because, well, I helped write it.

Bill contacted me and asked if I would be interested in contributing some jokes as part of an experiment as Rifftrax attempts to expand their catalog. I was one of three contributing writers on this track, the other two being Courtney Enlow and Sean Thomason. Here’s Bill’s forum post announcing our involvement.

So if you’re reading my blog and you’ve never taken Rifftrax for a spin, maybe this could be your gateway track. Release date is June 3.
