Friend, brother, and compatriot Brian Dickett has posted an impressively exhaustive look back at our collaboration, featuring a series of Flash animations we produced together about a decade ago under our “People Who Bring You Things” banner. He provides some great commentary too, so all that’s left is for me to provide the link:

is a webzine devoted to comics and culture. They review comics (print and web), movies, music, books, etc. Maureen Landers has written a review of Gabe #1 for the March issue.
It’s a very positive review of this creator’s first effort. You can click the link below to read the full review, but here are a couple of quotes:
I like Gabe; he’s witty and sardonic, he’s matter of fact in the way we wish everyone would be. I also like Silas; he’s the perfect foil to Gabe; he’s the slightly off guy that will be your friend forever and do anything to help you.
The art is simple and understated, with clean lines and a bright color pallete, it reminds me of Scott Kurtz’ PVP but with color.
I’m a big fan of PVP, and I can’t think of a more flattering comparison for my artwork. Overall she gave the book a 7 out of 10, which based on my high school experience sounds about right.
Many thanks to Maureen for the kind write-up, and to Shane Bertou for alerting her to our existence.

Wow. I can’t really describe what this feels like. I hold comics in my hand all the time these days, but never ones that I made.
I have to say I’m blown away by the quality of Lulu Press’ printing. This book is on a par with some of the pro graphic novels I own. And while I think the price is a bit too high to continue for the rest of the series, I’m going to make this one available for purchase. I totally understand if you don’t want to shell out $8 for a book you can read online. But in case you do, this has my seal of approval and then some.
Well, I better go finish the script to issue #2.
